Current UK concerns about elderly people , hospital bed allocation and funding shortages for home care & care homes put pressure on Local Authorities.
Some areas are joining up the NHS , Social Services and Care Homes- practical organisational and cultural change and they deserve praise.
Adequate funding is naturally a priority. There is also an urgent use case for digital transformation to follow these examples of leadership. There are signs, however, that the opposite is happening in government .
If they are going to take "the bull by the horns" central and local government will have to reverse this trend.
